ICU ward nursing beds and equipment

1
Because the conditions of patients in the ICU ward are different from those of ordinary ward patients, the ward layout design, environmental requirements, bed functions, peripheral equipment, etc. are all different from those in ordinary wards. Moreover, ICUs of different specialties require different equipment. Are not the same. The design and equipment configuration of the ward should meet the needs, facilitate rescue, and reduce pollution.

Such as: laminar flow equipment. The pollution prevention requirements of ICU are relatively high. Consider using a laminar flow purification facility to reduce the chance of infection. In the ICU, the temperature should be maintained at 24±1.5°C; in the ward of elderly patients, the temperature should be around 25.5°C.

In addition, the small operating room, dispensing room, and cleaning room of each ICU unit should be equipped with reflective hanging UV lamps for regular disinfection, and an additional UV disinfection vehicle should be provided to regularly disinfect unmanned spaces.

In order to facilitate rescue and transfer, in the ICU design, it is necessary to ensure sufficient power supply. It is best to be equipped with dual and emergency power supplies, and important equipment should be equipped with an uninterruptible power supply (UPS).

In the ICU, there should be a variety of gas pipelines at the same time, it is best to use the central supply of oxygen, the central supply of air, and the central suction vacuum. In particular, the central oxygen supply can ensure that ICU patients continuously absorb a large amount of oxygen, avoid the work of frequent replacement of oxygen cylinders, and avoid the contamination of oxygen cylinders that may be brought into the ICU.
The selection of ICU beds should be suitable for the characteristics of ICU patients, and should have the following functions:

1. Multi-position adjustment to meet different clinical needs.

2. It can help the patient to turn over by foot or hand-held control.

3. The operation is convenient and the bed movement can be controlled in multiple directions.

4. Accurate weighing function. In order to closely monitor changes in fluid exchange, fat burning, sweat secretion, etc.

5. The back X-ray filming needs to be completed in the ICU, so the X-ray film box slide rail needs to be configured on the back panel.

6. It can move and brake flexibly, which is convenient for rescue and transfer.

At the same time, the headboard of each bed should be provided with:

1 power switch, multi-purpose power socket that can be connected to 6-8 plugs at the same time, 2-3 sets of central oxygen supply devices, 2 sets of compressed air devices, 2-3 sets of negative pressure suction devices, 1 set of adjustable brightness headlights, 1 set of emergency lights. Between the two beds, a functional column for use on both sides should be set up, on which there are power sockets, equipment shelves, gas interfaces, calling devices, etc.

Monitoring equipment is the basic equipment of ICU. The monitor can monitor waveforms or parameters such as polyconductive ECG, blood pressure (invasive or non-invasive), respiration, blood oxygen saturation, and temperature in real time and dynamically, and can monitor the measured parameters. Carry out analysis processing, data storage, waveform playback, etc.

In the design of ICU, the type of patient to be monitored should be considered to select the appropriate monitor, such as cardiac ICU and infant ICU, the functional focus of the required monitors will be different.

The equipment of ICU monitoring equipment is divided into two categories: single-bed independent monitoring system and central monitoring system.

The multi-parameter central monitoring system is to display various monitoring waveforms and physiological parameters obtained by the bedside monitors of patients in each bed through the network, and display them on the large-screen monitor of the central monitoring at the same time, so that medical staff can monitor each patient. Implement effective real-time monitoring.

In modern ICUs, a central monitoring system is generally established.

ICUs of different natures need to be equipped with special equipment in addition to conventional equipment and equipment.

For example, in a cardiac surgical ICU, continuous cardiac output monitors, balloon counterpulsators, blood gas analyzers, small rapid biochemical analyzers, fiber laryngoscopes, fiber bronchoscopes, as well as small surgical equipment, surgical lights, must be equipped , Disinfection supplies, 2 sets of thoracic surgical instrument kits, surgical instrument table, etc.

3. Safety and maintenance of ICU equipment

ICU is a place where a large number of electrical appliances and medical equipment are used intensively. There are many high-current and high-precision medical equipment. Therefore, attention should be paid to the safety of equipment use and operation.

In order to ensure that the medical equipment works in a good environment, first of all, a stable power supply should be provided for the equipment; the position of the monitor should be set at a slightly higher place, which is easy to observe and away from other equipment to avoid interference to the monitoring signal. .

The equipment configured in the modern ICU has high technical content and high professional requirements for operation.

In order to ensure the normal operation and use of ICU equipment, a full-time maintenance engineer should be set up in the ICU ward of a large hospital to guide doctors and nurses in the correct operation and use of equipment; assist doctors in setting machine parameters; usually be responsible for the maintenance and replacement of equipment after use. Damaged accessories; regularly test the equipment, and regularly perform measurement corrections as required; repair or send the faulty equipment for repair in a timely manner; register the use and repair of the equipment, and establish an ICU equipment file.
